Racine Zoo Tortoise Encounters have a maximum of 8 Guests per encounter. All guests must be at least 3 years old at the start of the program. Animal encounters are always hopeful interactions. Participation of the animals is never guaranteed, nor forced-- it is up to them to participate. This encounter may take place behind the scenes. All participants must wear close-toed shoes. Allergens that may be present behind-the-scenes include but are not limited to hay, straw, dust, dander, and nuts. There is no eating or drinking allowed behind-the-scenes. Due to the nature of this encounter, participants must be able to stand and walk. Please contact the Racine Zoo Education Team at education@racinezoo.org with any questions.
