Party for the Planet 2025

Join the Racine Zoo and zoos around the United States to celebrate our world of during Party for the Planet! Through a grant from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and partnership with AZA's SAFE Program, the Racine Zoo is celebrating all animals that migrate with several events throughout the summer. Whether you join us for a day or volunteer with our projects, you will learn something new and help the species that make incredible journeys around our planet.

Party for the Planet Zoorific Saturday

Join us for games, crafts, and activities that celebrate all the migrating animals at the Racine Zoo!

Learn more about the new conservation opportunities for the family and spend the day celebrating the planet. Free with Zoo admission

May 10

Beach Cleanup

Join the Racine Zoo in helping to keep our environment clean. From 10 AM - 12 PM, assist Zoo staff in cleaning up our beach!

Purple Martin Nest Monitoring

Come out to the Racine Zoo on select days to learn about the brand-new homes for a verys pecial bird, the purple martin! See if anyone has laid eggs and learn how we can help these amazing songbirds. Nest checks will occur during regular Zoo hours. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and families. E-mail education@racinezoo.org for more information

Monarch Butterfly Tagging and Monitoring

Did you know monarch butterflies travel 3,000 miles each year? Join the Racine Zoo in tracking monarch butterflies through the MonarchWatch project and see where these amazing butterflies will fly! Tagging will occur during regular Zoo hours. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and families. E-mail education@racinezoo.org for more information.

Eco-Cell Device Recycling

The Zoo has partnered with Eco-Cell to collect old devices such as cell phones, music players, tablets, and chargers to be recycled. Drop-off box is located inside Zoo giftshop. Items can be dropped off at anytime during Zoo hours!
